About Me
About Me
I started my professional journey with a degree in graphic design. Post-graduation, I worked as a web designer at a small firm. However, life took an unexpected turn when I got married and became a parent. Choosing to prioritize family, I quit my full-time job and embraced the role of a stay-at-home parent.
During this time, I worked part-time in the local school system, initially as a general assistant and eventually as a substitute teacher. Still needing an outlet for my creativity, I started a side business. Combining my graphic design with self-taught woodworking skills, I create small-batch handcrafted home décor, personalized gifts, and stationery.
In 2021, life took another unexpected turn. My marriage fell apart rather suddenly, and I found myself at a crossroads, needing a way to support myself and my kids. It was a challenging time, but out of necessity came an opportunity. I decided to take my side business to the next level and make it my full-time job.
Recognizing the need for fresh skills, I returned to school. Focused on gaining expertise in marketing, I earned an associate degree in the field in June of 2023. In addition to marketing, I also pursued a bachelor’s degree in business administration with a concentration in entrepreneurship, graduating summa cum laude in March of 2024.
This journey has been eye-opening. I’m still unsure of what my next career move will be. I would love to I am keeping all my options
and along the way, I discovered a love for marketing. It’s not just a degree; it’s a stepping stone toward a fulfilling career in a field I’m truly passionate about.
Even with these exciting changes, I’m not letting go of my roots. My business that started as a creative outlet remains close to my heart, and I am determined to continue it alongside my academic and professional pursuits.
